The low level waste repository site is the nation’s principal disposal facility for LLW such as spent nucelar fuel and plastics this is only facility that is permitted to receive all categories of low level waste. The site receives low level solid waste from a range of customers, such as the nuclear industry, the Ministry of Defence, non-nuclear industries, educational, medical and research establishments.
As part of their long term planning proposals, we developed a 3D model of the existing LLWR site with the ability to step forward in time showing how the store would change over a period of time up to 2050, including proposed landscape mitigation.
We produced the model from a wide range of data sources to provide an engaging tool for views of the landscape.
The model allows users to view the project from anywhere within the coverage area, from an aerial position or from ground level. It runs in real-time so you can manually walk around the site mouse and get a true representation of how the proposed developments will look.
